Why timing beats raw mechanics

Most Arc Raiders deaths are late by two seconds, not weak by twenty aim points. Arc Raiders is a PvPvE extraction shooter where scavenged loot only counts if you extract alive. The players who last are the ones who already decided when they would leave.

Build a clock around extract timing, third-party discipline, noise control, kit value. If you cannot name the next twenty seconds, you are wandering. This angle is written so it stands on its own — not as a clone of another Arc Raiders page.

A simple clock you can actually keep

Use a three-beat clock: enter, take one job, leave. In industrial yards, open sand flats, tight interior compounds, that might mean one loot cluster or one angle — not a full clear.

Say the clock out loud once. It sounds silly and it stops you from “just one more crate.” Pair it with one extract-first raid, loot-timer practice, quiet rotate between cover.

Where players waste the most seconds

Typical time sinks: looting too long after a fight; sprinting into open dunes; ignoring audio before a doorway. Each one feels justified in the moment and expensive ten seconds later.

If a fight is already lost on the clock, disengage. Arc Raiders punishes pride more than it punishes average aim.

A session plan for this week

This week: five sessions with a hard leave time. Write whether you extracted, rotated, or reset — not whether the clip looked good.

Keep the same clock on industrial yards until it is automatic. Then move the drill, not the whole playbook.
